School Board of Trustees

Our Board of Trustees provides guidance and strategic planning and develops school policy in accordance with Sierra View Junior Academy’s mission statement. The board works in partnership with the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (CCC) to hire and supervise staff, implement curriculum, oversee the facility and implement Board policy.

The Board consists of voting Trustees who are nominated and elected by one of the seven churches that support Sierra View Junior Academy. In addition the pastors of each of these churches are ex-officio members of the board along with the CCC Education Department Superintendents, Sierra View Junior Academy’s principal, and the Home and School Organization leader. Board meetings are held regularly each month and are open to members of the Sierra View Junior Academy community.

Three standing committees make recommendations and report to the Board. They are the Finance, Marketing and Personnel Committees. Other ad-hoc committees may be created and dissolved as necessary. Members of these committees consist of members of the board and invitees.

Home and School Organization Council

All parents automatically become members of the Home and School Organization (HSO). The Board nominates and elects the leader of the HSO who is also an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees, Monthly meetings are held to discuss and plan upcoming events and address parent’s questions and concerns.

Sierra View Junior Academy’s Home and School Organization enriches the school by providing school-wide events such as Fall Festival, celebrations, curriculum support, fundraisers and support of the day-to-day education experiences of the students and parents.
